  Commuter Bethelite video

  for those who missed last weeks clam meeting, there was a video played that was amazing ... however not in good way.. we are all aware how thousands of full time bethelites world wide got the boot and put out onto the street.

  some having giving most of their lives to the organization, but often with no real way to support themselves other than to depend on the generosity of others.

  so when this video talked about how special it would be for those who could step up and become a commuter bethelite, it made me think how calculating the governing body must be.

  Careful: heard this directly from a Dutch bethelite...not the conclusion, but that HQ had assigned McKinsey to review and that they analyzed what an in-house volunteer actually cost

  Bethel hired McKinsey to review what efficiencies they could achieve. McKinsey analysed that all the costs of a volunteer added up to roughly $1000 a month (housing, clothing, heating, electricy, water, healthcare). Until then they saw volunteers as free. They then sent most home and now offer the ‘privilege’ of doing this all of nyour own dime. Really sick and twisted, loveless...At least in a ‘worldly’ company you get a severance package.

She was baptized within two years and shortely thereafter sold our house, we waved goodbye to the statue of liberty, to serve in another country. Well, nearly 50 years has passed...

  What immodest clothing have you got in trouble for wearing?

  i personally have a very distinct sense of style and fashion which many of the fellow jdubs frown upon.

  recently, i was told by a few specially self righteous ones that i looked like a prostitute in a pair of white boots!

  a pair of 3 inch heeled, just a little taller than the ankle boots, with skirt that came down to my knees and a black long sleeve shirt that came up to my collarbone.

  My wife wore culottes (trousers-skirt). Very representative in the business setting. Came home late and decided not to change for the meeting, while she had a #3 talk. The school overseer after her talk counselled her. She objected. In the end, he said she could wear it to the hall, but not if she had a podium part.

  under the heading last days, the introduction promises this:.

  "the present wicked system of things, which extends worldwide, entered its last days in 1914, and some of the generation alive then will also be on hand to witness its complete end in the “great tribulation.”.

  will the "slave" explain to their followers that such an invaluable "witnessing tool" is no longer to be used, or will they just revise it electronically to reflect "current truth?

  i have just heard that the local needs item next week in the uk is to be about a new arrangement for donating online.

  This may actually blow up in their face. Contributing through the local congregation gives a measure of social control and pressure.

  Now persons may simply say if asked “I give/gave online”...even if they don’t. Witnesses are not always that honest and many PIMO can use this too.

  What a horrible pharisee video. Two of these three elders couldn't even find the time to read a letter and now they are judging those not quite hitting their hours. 50 hours and you should come off the list. One elder heard other elders gossiping on Br. Carpenter who should choose between LBC or pioneering. and how he dared taking a two week vacation, when he could have been knocking on not at home doors. What an unloving pharisee video. This is truly a works based organization, that doesn't care about its sheep. Their yolk is burdensome, not light.

  i am sure that after the dust of the jwr shutdown has settled, you will find this to be a good new home.. i would like to apologize for the sudden closure of jwr.

  Herewith my final farewell

  I would like to use this opportunity to thank you all – both on JWD and JWR for eight great years and the many virtual friendships being here resulted in. Thank you Simon for letting me be a member on JWD all these years – you are doing a good work and have many great people now joining your forum from JWR.

  Don’t pin me down on every word, but I am going to try to explain what lead to the demise and fall of JWR. As admin/mods we have the constant dealing with SPAM, Trolling, Creationist/Preaching, deciding on how far you let things go and when to reign in, having to ban persons, criticism on being too strict or too tolerant, name calling (Elders, GB), banned persons coming back over and over again with new sock-puppet accounts and more. It all comes with the turf, but at times it gets to you...

  Recently we had weeks of sock-puppet reappearance, name calling, innuendos and under the belt criticism on how we were handling matters – and I think that is kind of were the breaking point was reached and the decision to close JWR. Those who did these things know it themselves well and I beg you to behave well on JWD.

  The way in which it was shut down, I certainly in hindsight do not agree with, and am still hoping that Rifter will be able and willing to bring it online for a given period (e.g. one week) to allow everyone to download his/her personal posts and desired threads. From what I gather the reason for this manner of closure was as we felt that people were becoming too unnecessarily dependent on the forum and that one collective had been replaced by another. By sudden closure we were hoping that some would decide to let the past go and move on – and perhaps some will. I can tell you that even though I knew a few days in advance, I declined to download my research and material – close to 10K posts – as this would still somehow keep me attached – while I want a clean start. Viewing from my personal standpoint, perhaps I too soon agreed with the manner of closure. My sincere apology here for. I still am thankful to Rifter for the many years he lead JWR – and let me state for the record, that although he accepted some donations in the beginning, the last years with his own personally circumstances allowing, he no longer accepted donations and footed the costs of running JWR himself.

  To Quote Elizabeth Smart: “Be happy...live your life...move forward and do all of the things that you want to do. Because by feeling sorry for yourself and holding onto the past and reliving it over and over and over again, that’s only allowing them to steal more of your life away from you and they don’t deserve that. They don’t deserve another single second more of your life. So you be happy and you move forward”

  Closing with this quote to encourage you to move on whenever you feel you are ready for it and not to stay too long in a victim role. You are no longer victims of this cult, but the lucky ones to have made it out. Do your reading and research, decide what goals you have in your life and aim to achieve these.
